Number of Awards
Approximately, 10 per year. In some instances, an academic college or campus may sponsor additional Alumni Achievement honorees during an academic year.
Eligibility
All graduates of the University who are 35 years of age or younger.
Criteria
Open to all graduates of the University, the individual should show extraordinary professional accomplishment.
Nominations
Nominations are solicited from the deans of the academic colleges and the chancellors of the Penn State cmpuses in consultation with department chairpersons and faculty.
Selecting Body
The selection committee includes, but is not limited to, the provost of the University, an academic dean and chancellor, the vice president for development and alumni relations, the vice president of university relations, chair of the Alumni Council Awards Committee, and the executive director of the Alumni Association.
Timeline
Nomination materials are available online. Nominations are typically due in early October. Selection is made in October. Visits are arranged through the sponsoring college(s) and campus(es) for the following spring. The award is presented to the recipient in a formal ceremony at a reception and dinner hosted by the President of the University.
