Statement: Since 2010, I’ve been privileged to represent the College of Medicine Alumni Society on Alumni Council and would be delighted to continue participating as an elected member.

As a graduate alumna who did not attend the University Park campus and was a “non-traditional” student, I believe it is critical to nurture ties between the component societies and the Alumni Association and promote opportunities for interaction among students and graduates of all Penn State campuses, colleges, and programs. This ensures a breadth of perspectives to foster activities that engage and recruit members from all the components that contribute to our diverse, vibrant University.

Being an active member of the College of Medicine Alumni Society and the Alumni Association has allowed me to repay the institution for an excellent educational experience and contribute to that of current and future Penn Staters. Serving on Alumni Council has increased my appreciation for all the ways the Alumni Association supports the whole Penn State community, and it has afforded me additional opportunities to serve and promote service to our alma mater. I look forward to establishing an alumni chapter in my new home state of Wyoming!

Each of us can contribute to the restoration of Penn State’s reputation, and our Alumni Association plays a vital role in amplifying, coordinating, and communicating those efforts. A diversity of perspectives on Alumni Council enhances our collective ability to emphasize the University’s multi-faceted excellence, and with your support, I will continue to lend my voice.
