Statement: For the past five years, I served on the board of the Capital Area Chapter of the Alumni Association as an at-large board member (one year), vice president (two years) and president (two years). Also during that time, I took on numerous roles such as membership chair, IT chair, event planner, helped facilitate the planning of our chapter’s A Toast to Four Diamonds fundraiser, and volunteered many hours at chapter and Alumni Association-sponsored events. Through my vast contributions of volunteering for our chapter and the Alumni Association-sponsored events, I now strive to continue “giving back” by way of being elected to the Alumni Council board.

I am running for Alumni Council because it is the responsibility of the elected governing body to be the voice of all Penn State alumni. With that voice, I will continue to connect our passionate alumni by way of openness and communication, to the Alumni Association. Many of my experiences as a chapter leader have led me to be the bridge of communication between our local alumni (dues-paying members and non-members), for our chapter and those surrounding us, the Alumni Association, AIGs, Alumni Societies, the Alumni Association Grassroots Network, the Nittany Lion Club, and Penn State as a whole. Being chosen to represent and be the voice of dues-paying alumni is a privilege not to be taken lightly. I will take great pride in being the unifying voice that connects Penn State alumni to the Penn State Alumni Association…For The Glory of Old State!

(Life member, Penn State Alumni Association; board member, past president Capital Area Alumni Chapter; member, Nittany Lion Club)
