Statement: I started my lifelong relationship with Penn State as a freshman in Beam Hall in 1977. I met many wonderful friends and was involved in a number of activities. As director of the Residence Hall Advisory Board, I helped rid dorm students of being served the dreaded chicken steak. As chairman of Movin’ On, I got first-hand knowledge in large-event management and negotiation. As co-chairman of Encampment, I worked closely with the administration improving student-staff relations.

Off-campus, I co-managed the Phyrst to earn money to finance my education and also gained nuggets of business and customer-service insight that still serve me well today.

Most importantly, I met my wife at Penn State. A third-generation Penn Stater, she and I were introduced through an honor society and celebrated 30 years of marriage in 2016.

In the time since leaving school, I’ve had several wonderful work opportunities that were the result of Penn State connections, including 18 years in non-profit management, and had such titles as CEO and CFO attached to my name.

I’ve also done much volunteering and believe there are many ways the Alumni Association can continue its legacy: from expanding Alumni Association technology to the chapters, AIGs, and APGs; to growing the Grassroots Network and creating a section 527 organization; to beginning the groundwork for a Penn State Club in Manhattan.

I am and have been honored to be associated with Penn State, am eager for the chance to serve, and humbly ask for your vote.
