Bellefonte, Pa.
Executive Director
PA School Study Council, Penn State

Statement: It is my honor to serve on the Penn State College of Education Alumni Society Board since 2004 and to be chosen to lead that board as president from 2010–12. As an alumni society president, I have been impressed and honored to represent my college on the Alumni Council for the duration of my presidency. The College of Education Alumni Society Board and university-wide Alumni Council have provided insight and experience, preparing me for this opportunity to be elected and to represent you.

I believe that all Penn State alums are fortunate in their individual ways. Our University has truly added to my professional and personal betterment and I am pleased to give back through the Alumni Association, volunteerism and my support. I have two sons that are both Penn State graduates of the Schreyer Honors Program. I was married to their mom, Carol Ann, for 33 years, prior to her passing in 2014.

As a Centre County resident since July 2011, semi-retired and a dedicated alumnus, I can provide time and talent to Penn State through service on the Alumni Council. The entire University and all alumni now need to work together to expand the Penn State scholarship, honor and trust that are the bedrock of our school. “We Are … Penn State” and I will always work to maintain that vision!
