Vicksburg: The Key to the Mississippi


Spend three days in the classroom and in the field as you study the complex maneuver campaign to capture Vicksburg and the siege of that city. You will learn about the decisive leadership skills of Ulysses S. Grant as he regained control of the vital Mississippi River. Union control of the Mississippi River split the Confederacy and it positioned Grant for greater success when President Abraham Lincoln named him General in Chief nine months later.
