Admissions Alumni Volunteers
----------------------
Alumni can share their Penn State pride as an Alumni Volunteer. The Undergraduate
Admissions Office, in cooperation with the Alumni Association, has
established an alumni corps who assist with recruitment activities throughout
the country. Since the early 1980s, Alumni Volunteers have worked with
the Undergraduate Admissions Office and have become a vital part of recruitment
strategies. More than 1,000 alumni are currently volunteering at local
Penn State campuses and in their communities.
Alumni volunteers could be involved in:
- Assisting Penn State campuses with recruitment activities;
- Identifying quality students from local high schools who are interested
in Penn State;
- Contacting local high school guidance offices and serving as a resource
of information;
- Contacting students who have received offers of admission;
- Attending local college fairs as a representative of Penn State;
- Assisting with student receptions and open houses;
- Attending summer sendoff receptions hosted by the Alumni Association
and the local alumni chapter.
