Membership Categories

Membership in the Penn State Alumni Association makes you part of the Penn State family and cements your ties to other alumni and friends—and your ties to the University. This year, a record 169,209 alumni, students, and friends are members of the Alumni Association. There are three categories of membership detailed below plus special info for recent graduates. Alumni

Alumni members are the backbone of the Penn State Alumni Association, with more than 135,500 alumni who are dedicated members. Join them in supporting the mission of the Alumni Association, while showing your Penn State pride!

Friends/Parents

If you’re not a graduate of Penn State, you can still support the Penn State Alumni Association through membership, while receiving all of the same benefits as our alumni members. The only difference is voting privileges in the Alumni Council elections.

Students

Any currently enrolled student is welcome to join the Blue & White Society—our student membership group and the largest student organization at Penn State.
