Student Groups/Programs
The Penn State Alumni Association offers several ways for students to get involved.
The Lion Ambassadors have been inspiring Penn State spirit in visitors, alumni, and their fellow students since 1982. Among their more visible roles: giving countless tours to Penn State visitors, organizing the S-Zone in Beaver Stadium, guarding the Lion Shrine at Homecoming, hosting open houses in Old Main, and presenting the annual Lantern Tours. For just $15 per year, students can become part of the largest dues–paying alumni association by joining the Blue & White Society. Membership has its benefits including access to the Alumni Association’s online directory, Penn State’s Pride, and 10 percent off on supplies and clothing at all Penn State Bookstore locations. The FastStart mentoring program matches Penn State alums and faculty or staff members with first–year students who want to get their college careers off to a fast start. This program primarily serves African American, Latino/Hispanic, Asian and Asian/Pacific American students. To learn more about FastStart and how to get involved, click here.
