Volunteer

In addition to financial support, Penn State relies on alumni for everything from helping to recruit future students to mentoring existing students to hiring recent grads and alumni for internships and permanent employment. Here are several quick and easy ways to get involved.

Give to Penn State

Supporting Penn State ensures that current and future Penn Staters receive the same quality education Penn State has provided for more than 150 years. More information on giving opportunities is available here.

Support Scholarships

Alumni support of current students is essential given the high cost of higher education. Many alumni groups—chapters, interest groups, and affiliate program groups—raise money in support of group–sponsored scholarships benefitting students from defined geographic areas or with specific interests. Support scholarships in general by donating online.

Post a Job

Nittany Lion Alumni Recruiting links employers with potential employees through Alumni Career Services. Employers can also post jobs and learn about on–campus interviewing and career fairs at Penn State Career Services.

Mentor/Network with Students

The Alumni Association and Division of Student Affairs co–sponsor several programs that help alumni connect to students and other alumni.

LionLink is a professional networking program that links Penn State students and alumni with alumni volunteer Career Coaches.

FastStart is a mentorship program that matches first year students from underrepresented populations at Penn State with two mentors, one alumnus and one faculty/staff member. FastStart supports matriculation, persistence, academic achievement and professional development of Penn State students.

Recruit High School Students
